Mt. Hood Snow Sports

Early this season I decided to catch a ride up to hood from some random dude on Craigslist. While the guy was nice and hooked a ride up the mountain for cheap, he was a really out there guy. He showed up at seven am on a day that would surely start icey, but later burst into full on slushy park glory. He was heavily caffinated, and despite being 40 years old somehow managed to incorporate a never ending stream of "brosef" into his wording. Needless to say when I hit the moutnain the deciscion to split away and find other riders was an easy one.

So I jump on the chairlift with some random kids, and chat them up. This is where I met the entire Powgnar crew. They were all up riding, and after some general chatting I could tell they were rad kids, and i joined their session. The day went as good as any slushy park day could go: bad attempts at backflips, shit tons of jokes, a few burly tricks, and lots of laughter. The kids at Pow Gnar surely know how to get down.

So I start chatting about Powgnar, and it's a really cool story. Zach (zig) is the main rider for them, and he started the company to reflect his own beliefs in snowboarding. It's all about just going out, having fun, laughing with/at your friends, and oh yeah being a bit ridiculous in the process. They're currently just selling some cool shirts, and soon expanding onward in to other apparel areas. They have cool designs, and are definitely worth checking out!
