The purpose of MHSS is to better the community at Mt Hood, not detract from it. Negative contributions, slandering, bashing and more can and may be removed by the site administrator(s). Keep in mind that some discussions of a negative nature are fine. For example "Mountain X builds horrible jumps" is fine, since the community needs to hear about it, and so does the mountain. However "Johny so and so is a LOSER" doesn't benefit the community. Please grow a pair and do something other than insult people on the internet. Should some one post negative content, they may have their IP address banned from the site, preventing them from using any of the user features and/or commenting. The content itself also may be deleted.
Absolutely no posting inappropriate content! Mt Hood has riders and people from all age groups. Please don't get on here posting something responsible parents wouldn't directly hand to a younger sibling. Keep it positive. Anyone found posting inappropriate content may have their IP address banned from the site, preventing them from using any of the user features and/or commenting.
It's one thing to say "Hey wow the Taco Truck at 34th an Division is AMAZING", but it's not okay to say "Hey we're the taco truck at 34th and Division and here is our menu:". We won't allow shops to come in here and create fake hype for their business. If a business really is good people from the community will come in and say positive things on their own.
We hope we don't have to deal with this, but if anyone comes in posting tons of random content taking away from the functionality of the site, they can be banned. If some one goes around specifically causing trouble on every post they go into, they can be banned. If some one has multiple accounts so as they can post negative things about some one "in secret" they can not only be banned, but they can have the ownership of both accounts public ally revealed as well. We do not support anonymous passive aggressive slandering.
Keep in mind that these rules are not set in stone and a grey area does exist. There will always be exceptions to these rules, and they are subject to the administrator(s) discretion and interpretation. Please keep in mind that the forum administrator(s) are not paid, and any extra time they spend is done on a volunteer basis. Please keep in mind, that the final decision on how to interpret these rules will be made by the Administrator(s) in the best way they can.
