Ski Bowl is the lowest resort on Mt Hood, but it has amazingly diverse terrain, making it a favor for local skiiers and snowboarders. Ski Bowl is also the most overlooked place to for skiing and snowboarding in powder, as they have a wide variety of steep and varying terrain. With the awsome uper bowl, you won't be let down that you chose Ski Bowl on your powder day!
Skibowl's real secret value is it's back country accessibility for skiing and snowboarding. Just a short hike from the top lift and you are in some excellent back country terrain, such as Mirror Lake or Tom Dick and Harry's. Also due to the lower elevation the back country terrain is generaly not affected by avalanche warnings, however also prepare for the worse, and prepare yourself as the back country is no place to make assumptions.
Ski Bowl also recently has stepped up it's Freestyle terrain, which is now sponsored by Dakine. They largely appear to cater to beginner and intermediate riders, however they have been known to bring in more advanced freestyle features, espescially when they host large scale events like the West Coast Sessions. Ski Bowl is also one of the better night destinations on Mt. Hood.
